Thinking Kept Me Broke

LAMROW LETTER #4

Sup Peeps,

For years, I thought the only path to success came from thinking alone.

Quotes like:

  • "Your thoughts shape your reality."
  • "Like Attracts Like."
  • "Stand guard at the door of your mind."

All of that jazz drove me.

I was convinced that this was the only way.

The Law of Attraction taught me to visualize success.

Focus on what you want, and the universe will bring it to you."

It sounded easy enough.

I made vision boards, elaborated plans, and wrote mission statements.

But here’s the hard truth no one tells you:

Thinking alone gets you nowhere.

For years, I clung to the idea that positive thoughts and beliefs were enough to attract money.

And sure, there’s a sliver of truth to it—your mindset does shape your reality.

But the problem?

I was stuck in the thinking loop.

I’d spend hours every day refining my “perfect” plan, reading about systems, and visualizing success, but I wasn’t doing the one thing that creates actual results:

Taking action.

Eventually, I got so tired of not seeing the results I was going after.

So, I decided to bet on myself and put more on the line by investing in a high-ticket coaching program.

I was very skeptical about this decision and wasn't sure if it was going to work out.

Leading me to ovethink the process even more.

By increasing the skin in the game and raising the stakes by investing over five figures (that I didn't have).

This FORCED me to stop thinking and start doing.

There was another member of the community who said:

“This stuff works, but only if you do.

At that moment, I realized there was no point in THINKING if anything worked anymore.

I realized that was no longer an option.

Instead, my only other choice was to DO.

Act.

Move.

START.

GO!

Taking action, along with time, would give me my answer.

No Going back

There was something I realized about this coaching program:

They had already done all the thinking for me by building the system.

All the frameworks, steps, and strategies were there—I just had to follow them.

But I knew I would never find out if it worked if I stayed stuck in my head, overthinking every little thing.

That’s when I decided to trust the process.

At first, it felt messy and uncomfortable.

Progress wasn’t instant, but it slowly started to happen once I let go of perfection and shifted from thinking to doing.

Then I realized it was true:

Frameworks only work if you work.

Thinking alone will never move you forward.

Real results come from the action—especially the kind that feels uncomfortable, imperfect, or messy.

Success doesn’t happen just because you believe in it; it happens when you consistently do the work, no matter how small the steps may feel.

Stop Thinking. Start doing.

Thinking is easy, but it’s also painful—because it keeps you stuck.

Doing is hard, but it’s where progress lives.

You already know what to do.

You don’t need a perfect plan or the “right moment.”

You have two options in everything you do:

  1. Think about doing it forever
  2. Do what you think

Worst-case scenario, you actually make progress.

Fail Forward.

Don't let fear hold you back.

If you are having a hard time doing anything, you may be linking some pain to the actual doing of what you keep putting off.

See my previous letter, where I talk about linking pain and pleasure in relation to taking action:

If you are anything like me, you need some internal or external force to drive you.

A Why.

Something to propel you into action.

So, if you're stuck in the thinking loop, ask yourself how to increase the stakes and make whatever you're trying to do a MUST.

For me, it was investing the five figures I couldn't afford and placing a 100% bet on myself to succeed.

I like to think of it as a 'Gun to the Head' situation.

All the more reason to follow through.

Do, or die.

A little extreme, but in some cases, it helps lol.

But seriously, think about it...

Are you stuck in the thinking loop?

Endlessly planning and waiting for the right moment?

I urge you to stop overthinking and take 1 action you’ve been putting off.

Write it down.

Now.

Get clear on the one thing you know you need to do.

Now do it.

The shift happens when you start doing.

Let’s take that step together.

Keep following along for new newsletters, and consider sending this to a buddy who's stuck in the thinking loop.

Till next time,

Lamrow~
