Free Thinking

LAMROW LETTER #5

FREE THINKING

Sup,

Have you ever felt stuck in life, constantly going through the motions?

Waking up every day, just scraping by to avoid the 9 - 5, or worse, currently suffering in yours?

Do you crave the creative flow of building something meaningful instead of just exchanging time for money?

If you found yourself nodding along to any of these questions, read on—you're not alone.

These days, questioning the 9-to-5 path is more common than ever, especially with the endless opportunities in the digital economy.

Why spend 40 years building someone else's dream when you could create your own?

I've been there...

On the edge of financial collapse, forced to apply for low-wage jobs to survive—being trapped in survival mode.

If you're anything like me, you have a big vision for your life.

You refuse to settle for a lifestyle filled with constraints.

Constraints that make you feel boxed in, unable to grow into your fullest potential.

Even after pouring six figures into a business management degree, I quickly realized the impact I wanted to make wouldn't come from a traditional job alone.

To be fair, this was during the peak of COVID-19 when the world—and the workplace—was shifting online.

Job opportunities were scarce, and the marketplace wasn't offering much.

Looking around, I kept thinking: There has to be more…

The Sneaky Voice Holding You Back: Doubts and Limiting Beliefs

Even if we know we want more for ourselves, silent killers like self-doubt can sabotage our chances of succeeding before we even start.

You've told yourself things like:

  • This isn't for me.
  • I could never do that.
  • I'm not cut out for this whole 'online business' or 'creator' thing.

Or maybe you've grown skeptical about sales, assuming that anyone selling something must be manipulative, sketchy, or out to get you.

But here's the truth:

EVERYONE IS SELLING SOMETHING.

We all trade our time, ideas, or energy for money-whether it's for a company we secretly resent or a passion we fully believe in.

That's not a bad thing.

In fact, commerce is as old as civilization itself.

What is bad?

The unchallenged limiting beliefs that keep you from embracing the opportunities available to you right now.

The comfort TRap

The mind loves familiarity

It's wired for it.

Staying stuck feels safe.

But free thinking is the antidote.

It's what allows you to question everything.

Including the belief set that quietly keeps you small.

I used to believe that, since I had a college degree, I would have to use it for the rest of my life.

I'd over-self-identify and link my entire self-worth to these limited opportunities.

I used to think that it was just who I was and that this was all I'd be.

Turns out...

I was WRONG.

You are not a piece of paper.

You are not your past choices.

You are not stuck.

You can always become more...

How to break free

If you never regularly challenge or question your beliefs, you'll stay exactly where you are.

And that's not your fault-it's just how the mind works.

But if you want change, you must take responsibility for rewriting your personal narrative.

If not?

You'll make no progress.

No Risk = No Reward.

The only way out?

  1. Become ultra-aware. Identify the beliefs that are keeping you stuck. See them for what they truthfully are, not actually worse than what they are.
  2. Rewrite the script. Replace limiting beliefs with ones that empower you. Rewrite them in a way that will serve you to be better than who you've been being.
  3. Take action that is aligned with your new beliefs. Live in accordance with them, even when it feels uncomfortable.

Because on the other side of discomfort?

That's where your real potential lives.

Why Doing Little Things Every Day Matters Big Time

Let's zoom out for a moment.

What if the real issue isn't a lack of self-belief but rather a lack of consistent, long-term discipline and a misunderstanding of leverage?

We live in a world obsessed with instant gratification—fast food, same-day shipping, streaming on demand.

Everything is designed for immediacy.

But true success, especially the kind that frees you from a 9-to-5, doesn't happen overnight.

It's built on small, daily actions—compounded over time.

James Clear's Atomic Habits drives home the power of tiny, repeated actions.

Naval Ravikant emphasizes long-term leverage, sharing how real wealth is built by playing the long game.

MJ DeMarco in The Millionaire Fastlane highlights the importance of systems that create unlimited leverage—where your income isn't tied to your time.

Misplaced vs. Effective Leverage

Maybe you're already working your tail off...

Pouring hours into your job, projects, or side hustle.

But if those efforts aren't directed at the right vehicles, it's like having a powerful engine but never leaving the driveway.

Society conditions us to stay in the safe, slow lane and settle for the 9 - 5.

It's safe...

It's easy to explain...

It's N-O-R-M-A-L...

But if you're reading this, you're not here to be ordinary.

You want more.

So,

Let's be crystal clear:

If you crave freedom, creativity, and autonomy, tapping into real leverage that you own and control is your ticket out.

If you're perfectly content with your 9-to-5, that's fine.

But if even a small part of you whispers, "I'm meant for more," then you owe it to yourself to consider adopting a new approach.

Because the biggest wins come from the smallest daily actions—done consistently, with leverage, over time.

Free Thinking: How to Use Your Brain in Awesome Ways

To truly break free from the monotony of a 9-to-5, you need to understand the power of leverage—and how it can reshape your life.

It's not about working yourself into the ground.

It's about strategically focusing your energy on activities that multiply your results over time.

Step 1: Identify Your Strengths & Passions

Leverage works best when it aligns with what energizes you.

  • Are you a natural storyteller?
  • Are you great at simplifying complex ideas?
  • Are you a wizard at design or coding?
  • Are you secretly a very articulate wordsmith?

The idea is to uncover what you're naturally good at...

AND LEAN INTO IT.

When you build on your strengths, you create a win-win:

You do what you love and bring unique value to others.

My biggest gift is seeing the bigger picture and turning chaos into systems.

I can take a string of processes, habits, and workflows—whether personal life or business—and systematize them.

That's my leverage: Creating Systems!

I design my systems in Notion to solve problems in my personal life and business.

Notion is a software for thinking, writing, and building ideas into pages or databases.

I take it a step further by leveraging Notion's capabilities to build creative solutions in the form of systems.

The secret is to turn those solutions into products or services for others facing the same challenges.

Voila!

That's how I create leverage.

Leverage that I now own and control.

Think about this:

How can you create leverage right now?

It won't become clear overnight.

It took me years to figure out what I could turn into leverage.

It might be something you've overlooked or underestimated in yourself.

That's why you need to battle-test every belief you have about yourself.

Step 2: Shift from Busywork to Meaningful Work

Modern life is full of distractions:

  • Emails
  • Social Media
  • Endless Notifications
  • Chores that eat up your best hours

Most people stay stuck in busy work—not realizing how little it actually moves the needle forward.

Instead, you need to prioritize meaningful work ruthlessly.

This means:

1. Creating a framework you can teach or sell.

2. Build systems that solve problems in your life—and then monetize those solutions. (Solve your problems, then sell the solution.)

3. Growing an audience you can serve, educate, or entertain repeatedly.

What do all of these have in common?

THEY SCALE.

Instead of trading hours for a paycheck, you build assets—like an online course, a paid newsletter, a high-traffic blog, or an app—that can generate long-term returns.

There's never been a greater demand for digital products, services, and knowledge.

Don't let a poor excuse be a substitute for a rich experience. -LAMROW

So what's stopping you?

If you've been holding onto excuses about not putting out a simple $5 digital product, challenge that belief.

Because in reality?

It's not a lack of ability.

It's just fear disguised as logic.

Step 3: Embrace the Free-Thinking Mindset

This entire approach hinges on questioning norms and challenging your own assumptions.

Free thinking allows you to see beyond the standard script:

• Go to college

• Get a job

• Climb the ladder

• Retire

Once you ditch that one-size-fits-all blueprint, you open the door to a world of possibilities.

Yes, there's risk involved.

But with risk comes the chance to create something extraordinary.

And if you commit to small, consistent actions, you'll start to see real shifts—in your mindset, your confidence, and, ultimately, your success.

The Bottom Line

Your unique talents + a free-thinking mindset + leverage = a life of greater autonomy, purpose, and prosperity.

It won't happen overnight.

But if you stay the course?

Everything changes.

Cool Things You Can Make NOW to Earn Money and Have Fun

Now that we've broken down why leverage matters... let's talk about the fun part

What you can create:

✅ E-books – Write and sell short, valuable guides on topics you know.

✅ Printables – Create planners, worksheets, or checklists people can download.

âś… Digital products (courses, guides, templates)

âś… A paid Newsletter or Blog

✅ Low-Cost Mini Courses – Teach a skill you already have in a simple, easy-to-follow format.

âś… Software or Notion Dashboards

âś… A YouTube channel or podcast

âś… Coaching or consulting services

Plus, a whole bunch more...

The point?

You have options.

You don't need a big audience or complex skills to start.

Pick one, take action, and start building your leverage today.

Also, note that you can build all these and more on the side while transitioning from the 9-to-5 mindset.

Final Notes...

Step Forward – Your Invitation to Creative Autonomy

At the end of the day, this is about reclaiming control.

You don't have to accept the default path.

You can build something meaningful, scalable, and aligned with your strengths.

The only question left is:

So what's stopping you?

Whatever it is—challenge it.

Dismantle those limiting beliefs or self-doubt.

Because your best life is on the other side of action.
